- Job Description:
Providing a responsive, flexible and outreach case management service to support peoples housing needs.
Assisting people to address the underlying factors contributing to their homelessness.
Empowering clients through a strengths-based model of practice.
Liaising and working closely with the Dandenong Drug Court team and relevant external agencies and organisations.
Undertaking safety planning with clients.
Networking with other service providers and programs.
Providing advocacy and support activities.
- Requirement:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social or Behavioural Science, Psychology or other relevant discipline at degree level or above.
Relevant experience working in the community services sector.
Sound knowledge of social housing including transitional housing management (THM) properties.
An understanding and commitment to the social and political context of homelessness.
Well-developed understanding of and proven ability to work with people with complex support needs, including alcohol & other drugs and mental health.
Demonstrated experience and capability in:
Responding to requests for services.
Case management.
Providing advocacy and support.
Working autonomously and under limited direction.
Well-developed understanding of and ability to provide intensive support to people with complex needs.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to improving service delivery and practice.
A proven aptitude to relate positively and confidently with people from all walks of life, in a variety of settings.
Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
