Coach the team to deliver culturally safe, high quality outreach services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences to clients.
Utilise person-centred, recovery-orientated techniques and a staged approach to recovery to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s goals.
Provide practice leadership and work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering specialised psychosocial support.
Build client trust through strengths based engagement and develop relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services, local communities, kinship groups and elders.
Support clients to reconnect or connect with the communities and services, and educate stakeholders to understand the health benefits of connection with country and community.
- Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field and/or equivalent experience in similar role.
Expertise in working with First Nations peoples with mental health issues who have complex needs and strong experience interacting with communities, families and carers.
Understanding of the link between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes, disconnection from community and mental health.
Previous experience in supporting, mentoring and coaching a team.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with agencies, clinical providers, local communities and elders.
