- Job description:
Provide one-on-one support, social companionship and someone to talk to outside of their families and service providers.
Encourage individuals to participate in social and recreational activities.
Support people to connect or reconnect with the local community.
Participate with individual in activities of interest, e.g. coffee catch ups, visiting galleries or libraries, sporting events, walks, exercising or watching movies.
- Requirements:
No minimum qualification is required but Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field is desirable.
Previous experience in a similar volunteering or customer service position is desirable.
Excellent communication and listening skills with a non-judgmental attitude.
Willingness to understand mental illness and its effects on families and carers.
