- Job Description:
Enhance consumers recovery within a multi disciplinary team
Be part of a growing lived experience team
Use Peer support principles to mentor positive recovery
Facilitate group activities and support consumer voice.
Duties:
Share relevant recovery strategies and stories based on your own lived experience.
Facilitate/Co-facilitate Recovery Groups
Practice in a way that is mindful of dynamic power imbalances
Provide informal, practical support to consumers, including listening to consumer concerns, providing information about the Forensic Mental Health System and assisting consumers to access appropriate supports.
- Requirement:
Lived Experience as a consumer of mental health services.Considerable experience in a similar designated consumer lived experience role.
Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery
Respect for individual diversity and an understanding of how to respond sensitively to issues of diversity
Qualifications in Mental Health or a willingness to work towards such
