We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Student Wellbeing Officer to join our Student Support Department. The Student Wellbeing Officer is responsible for seeing students that have been identified by relevant parties (including classroom/tutor group teachers, Heads of Year, Heads of School, student wellbeing team members) for specific issues detrimentally affecting their emotional affect, academic achievement, and social functioning at school.
- Job Description:
The Student Wellbeing Officer’s role in face-to-face individual sessions with students is to listen to identified issues, provide appropriate advice/strategies relative to the expertise of the position, assess whether further/external assistance is required, and refer on where appropriate. Outside of individual sessions, the Student Wellbeing Officer is responsible for compiling specific and detailed case-notes, summary notes for relevant stakeholders, assist in creation of preventative programs aimed at larger student cohort (to be delivered by teaching staff and/ or Student Wellbeing Officers), assist in group sessions run by Student Wellbeing Officer’s with specific training.
Post-secondary qualifications in related discipline (e.g., Student Wellbeing, Social Work, Counselling and Human Services).
Working with Children Check (employment card).
National Criminal Police Check.
Must hold membership to relevant registering bodies.
