AOD Youth Outreach Worker is part of the HomeBase Integrated Youth Health Services which has been designed to deliver holistic and engaging services to young people and their families that consider the social determinants of health, in a relationship and trauma informed model of care.
The AOD Youth Outreach program aims to reduce substance use and the harm associated with substance use, for young people aged between 12-25 years and to support the young person to make sustainable changes.
The AOD Youth Outreach Worker will work in HomeBase Activities and Hoops which are provided in the afternoon and early evening.
- Requirement:
You are an enthusiastic, passionate, and innovative worker who wants to help us develop new ways of providing AOD support and treatment to young people in our community aged between 12-25 years. You will be working with complex young people in a trauma informed and relationship-based model of care to reduce substance use, provide education on the harm associated with substance use and make sustainable changes.
You will have a qualification in health care, education or youth work, and experience in working with complex and vulnerable young people, social determinants of health and the justice & regulation system. Your highly developed communication and assessment skills will assist you to engage with the client, their family and other service providers to reduce risk factors and increase protective behaviours that prevent the client engaging in the youth justice system.
